Mint released this in conjunction with CiTR 101.9FM to help the station raise funds during their 2013 Fundrive! Proceeds from the sale of this compilation go to CiTR 101.9FM in Vancouver.

From the liner notes:
Excitement can be a bit elusive when one thinks of Vancouver and music. Between the arcane liquor laws, sky-high rents and the closure of beloved venues, things can feel pretty gloomy.

But as the songs here show, the music itself is doing great. These 14 bands are a tiny slice of the delicious music scene pie we fans gorge ourselves on. There are dozens and dozens of amazing band in this town, and great organizations, like Music Waste and Safe Amp, that help show it off.

Clearly there's WAY too much great stuff to fit on a single record, so the focus here is on pop. Compilations can be tricky, but - I have to say - this is one stacked platter.
